What is the Broker in Deadlock?
The Broker is a limited-time merchant from the City Never Sleeps update. He trades a tier 3 or tier 4 item you own for its Corrupted version, which is stronger but carries one random drawback.
When does the Broker show up?
His two stalls open between mid and the side lanes around the 30 minute mark. New stock arrives roughly every 15 minutes after that.
Which items can be corrupted?
90 shop items can be corrupted, all of them tier 3 or tier 4: weapon, vitality and spirit items alike.
What drawbacks can Corrupted items get?
Every Corrupted item rolls one of 11 drawbacks with equal odds. Tier 3 and tier 4 values: Ability cooldown -13% / -17%, Ability range -20% / -25%, Stamina -1 / -1, Move speed -2 m/s / -2.75 m/s, Fire rate -20% / -25%, Ability duration -15% / -20%, Spirit power -30 / -45, Weapon damage -40% / -55%, Max health -350 / -550, Bullet resist -14% / -18%, Spirit resist -14% / -18%. Some items can never roll certain drawbacks.
Does corrupting an item cost souls?
According to the current game files the swap costs no extra souls. You only need to own the item.
How long does the Broker stay?
He is a limited-time event and leaves once the first new hero of City Never Sleeps is released on October 2, 2026.
