The Venator fights with the utmost faith in his god. His rapid-fire SMG in one hand, able to shred through targets, all while his shotgun in his other hand stands ready to punish them, and push them into a wall. His traps lie in wait, snapping up at the poor soul who steps over them, revealing their position and making them vulnerable to a punish. Using his Consecrating Grenade, he cleanses them with holy fire. A Venator's duty is never finished, so when times are right, he loads his crossbow, Ira Domini, and impales the poor souls before him, executing them with ease. He is blessed by his god, and no job under his vision goes unfinished.

The main focus of this build is simple: be as dangerous as can be! Your main priority should be getting sustain items to keep yourself alive, with a particular focus on your firearms to take care of any enemies that dare stand in your way! Your Consecrating Grenade (1) is a key tool for you, as it deals powerful damage over time to whoever is hit by it, as well as enemies around whoever is hit with it as well! Your Gutshot (2) should be used to punish enemies mistakes, pushing them into a wall for a stun and easy Heavy Melee punish. Don't get too greedy, though! You aren't invincible, so you still need to play cautious.

Your secondary focus should be to be a tank, soaking up damage with your higher health scaling than most other characters, as well as your high resist stats that, believe it or not, scale with your spirit power! Your scaling resists are crucial to your survival, which is why it is good to at least get some spirit item supplements to bump those up a notch. Alongside that, sustain items like Vampiric Burst or Lifestrike can be really good to recover large portions of your health quickly, as even if you don't have a support on your team, it is ultimately up to YOU to stay alive.

Despite your resists scaling with spirit power, you shouldn't invest too much into spirit, as if you do, you are essentially crippling your own damage by picking up items that, other than affecting your resists, only really affect one part of your kit; the Snap Trap (3). While the Snap Trap's spirit scaling IS really good, and can do some quality work in dire situations, you won't be using it to actually DEAL your damage. Your damage should come from your gun, grenade, and Gutshot. Ira Domini (4), on the other hand, shouldn't be used to DEAL as much damage, but to finish off lower health enemies, as it executes them when they are at low enough health. Play safe, play dangerous. Cant shoot if you're dead.
