Description

Thanks to ihatenikolas for the foundation and BigStimmer for help with tweaking da build! With the T3 Rising Ram change, Billy is no longer great at spirit nuking but he can still nuke when ahead with a Hybrid build! The new Ram changes make him (in my opinion) THE tankiest hero along while still doing off-carry levels of damage, especially in teamfights with all of his displacements. Basic tutorial at the bottom for new Billy players since he has a low performance floor.

FROM HERE ON ARE THE TUTORIAL BOXES. I RECOMMEND READING THEM IF YOU ARE NEW TO BILLY AND ESPECIALLY THE FRONTLINING ROLE! - GENERAL FRONTLINE TIPS: First thing you need to do is limit test. When playing a tank, you need to know when to aggressively take space for your team, when to peel (help your team back up from a bad fight) and know what 1v1s or skirmishes you can take and win. This is the hardest part of frontlining, especially as Billy where it can be easy to feed the enemy when unexperienced. EXP takes time, so have fun trying to learn the role and character! There are plenty of guides on how to frontline, and I recommend the Billy guide video by ihatenikolas for a good, in-depth overview of his gameplan, kit and combos, and important concepts to keep in mind. - My playstyle roles by making myself a position 2 hero: #1 goal is Off-Carry. Make the enemy who is fed or their carry have an awful day. You have crazy 1v1 and even 1v2 potential, harass the enemy you think is giving your team the hardest time and counter them out of the game (without feeding them solo kills). #2 and most common thing I do is Frontline. You have to be either the IGL or comming to your teammates what you're doing in teamfights, and make sure they're playing off your utility like Ult, displacements, etc. #3 is to hard carry your team when YOU are ahead by a lot in souls, if you are significantly better than the enemy team in skill, or when your team comp lacks a carry role (Wraith, Warden, Seven, Victor, or Vindicta). - Early Game: The first 2-3 minutes of lane will be a struggle in a good amount of matchups. Try to safely take waves and punish overextending enemies until close quartes. The first 10 minutes should be spent coordinating with your lane partner for aggressive trades and box running in between waves until guradian is down. This is where limit testing is most necessary, as feeding in lane can be easy when new to Billy or Frontline as a whole. The goal before the first Rift is to get ahead and start helping struggling lanes and snowball your lead. This might be standard for most feed heroes but a fed Billy is one of the hardest to get under control in my opinion.0 items

EXTRA TIPS FOR LANE AGAINST BAD MATCHUPS: POCKET is like the only character that trades harder than you do, play super safe until damage spikes and coordinate a nuke on them; IVY has a lot of poke once she gets her gun items, counter her poking with rusted barrel or stay out of line of sight, and dash away from Stone Form. VINDICTA is pretty bad. You need to outsmart her, stay out of her line of sight and use Ram to get up to her flight and use Bashdown to drag her out of the air and cancel the flight. BEBOP needs stacks to get online as a character, so until he has them he has no pressure once he hooks and bombs you, tell your teammate that if either of you get hooked you will both dive Bebop for a big trade. KELVIN will outheal your trades if split between both enemies, so either focus him or his partner and burst them down to reduce the impact of his healing. These are the most notable ones to me, but I recommend asking top Billy players in their streams or the Billy mains in the official Discord for tips on other heroes you might struggle against! - Mid and Late Game: IF AHEAD, you start perma fighting and snowballing your unkillable dps status, help your carry take farm safely, and punish overextended enemies. IF BEHIND, take T1 and T2 camps, sinners, and do box runs inbetween wave clear, as you need to catch up ASAP and prioritize the damage items and counter buy the problematic enemies until you get back on even footing. Once midgame rolls around you become the most important person in teamfights alongside your carry. Your job is to tank the enemy team's damage (especially during T1 ult) by not allowing them to ignore you due to all of the displacements in your kit. This keeps them grouped up for your team to hit multiple people at once. If you are fed, you essentially become the main DPS in said teamfights, and as such it is important you play smart and use cover to extend your life and dps. No matter your economy, in teamfights you need to focus on the fed enemy hero or carry and take them out first so your team has a better chance of winning the fight and converting that lead into an objective or midboss. If contesting midboss, you need at least one or two teammates for the best chance of stealing the Rejuvs. Use ult once it descends halfway, and ram to one of the stairway veils and yank them away from it.
