Ability Point (AP) Order Notes

The order listed is what I generally use for my ability points, however the entangling thorns (Kudzu Bomb) and air drop upgrades aren't as urgent, but it's up to you. Rush tier 2 stone form and prioritize max Kudzu Connection, after that it's mostly up to you as to what you want to do, but I like a good balance of getting Thorns and air drop to level 2.0 items

Playstyle Notes

This build focuses on allowing Ivy to do a bit of everything and allows you to adapt and adjust as needed. Need to be more of a healer then you can do that and be an incredible pocket. Need to be a carry, you can do that, need some CC she's go it. Ultimately go with how you like to play and play smart and know that you don't always need to be the hero. Be there for your team and play with them.0 items

The Most Important Rule

Make sure to have fun and suit the role you want to be or the role the team needs. I will make other builds that are more specialized Ivy builds in the future, but for now this one has everything you would need and is helpful for newer players. Ivy has a ton of nuiance to her playstyle and is not simple.0 items

Entangling Thorns (Kudzu Bomb) (1)

OptionalEntangling Thorns (Kudzu Bomb) is a great all around ability that acts as a CC tool. Use it early for ad clear and some jungle farm. Use it to discourage retreats and cover space, and use it to chip and prevent escapes. Kudzu bomb is a utility tool, not a kill tool (usually).2 items

Kudzu Connection (2)

This is Ivy's strongest ability and prioritizing its max upgrade is essential. It gives her a ton of bullet lifesteal and fire rate and she can give it to a teammate as well as heal both them and herself a ton. This also gives her the fleetfoot item's passive buff on a passive ability. To maximize this ability stick with teammates and will give you the full buffs with troopers. Positioning is key and make sure to select bullet focused heroes (like Haze or Venator) for the connection to buff you both. Don't forget to swap to lower health teammates to heal them. This is the most complex and micro management needed ability Ivy has.0 items

Stone Form (3)

This is an amazing ability that does decent damage, applies a good stun, prevents damage, and heals you. Pick the right times to use it. If you need healing, use it to heal. Use it as a brief damage reprieve. Use it to combo and pick off an enemy, and use it to stop ults. There are many use cases and you will learn as you play when and where to use Stone form.0 items

Air Drop (4)

Ivy's Air Drop is an extremely useful ability that has many use cases. The primary use cases for Air Drop are to grab and rescuse a teammate in trouble. Make sure to not expose them too much and use the throw to throw off aim. The shield it provides helps you both. Air drop can be an amazing offensive tool for diving in and comboing with Kudzu Bomb and Stone form (plus other items) for huge damage or for air lifting a teammate into battle. There are so many use cases for air drop but the most important thing to remember about it the ability to activate it. Any damage you take from enemy characters or from enemy objective buildings (guardian/walker/shrine guardian/shrine/patron) will put Air Drop on a 4 second cooldown. Use stone form to get reprieve and use it properly. Plus there's some fun tech you can use with Air Drop so go look up some videos on the air drop cancel (will provide a link in the future).0 items
