Take note of how much pressure your team applies before deciding to fly off at the start of the round. Its very likely people will unload their fresh cooldowns and actives if they see you flying right away, so take some time to let them use things on allies if you're struggling.

As much as it's nice to save tethers for your own safety, they can be incredibly handy for keeping watch on teammates who are doing well to help them secure kills or prevent enemies escaping them.

Assassinate has a small grace period in which even if you don't get the killing blow, you can still get the stacking bonus even if the shot is an assist. Make use of this by quickscoping people not long for this world.

Its common knowledge by now but remember that you can melee, parry (Counterspell!), and use items like Phantom Strike during flight without cancelling it.

If you're grounded (or if you have T3 flight), you can begin falling when a knockdown or Seven stun is applied then use the new cast of flight to get some momentum to get you out of danger instead of falling straight down - similar to using a majestic leap.

Being able to fly apart from your team can force enemies to split their focus and use cooldowns on you that won't get any area of effect value vs allies or minions. If the game allows this, exploit flight and off-angles to force enemies apart and to choose whether to focus you or the team at large. It'll make it significantly easier for all of you to pick up kills if you press your advantage.
